The Most Overrated/Underrated Holiday Movies

The holidays are coming in just a couple of weeks, and it’s time to watch those favorite holiday movies everyone watches during the month of December. I know that I and many others have seen a lot of movies during this holiday season already, but have you ever wondered what the most overrated movies are? There definitely are some movies that are overrated within the student body. A couple of weeks ago, I went around the school asking multiple random students and groups about their favorite movie for the season, and people’s responses definitely surprised me. Here are the top three overrated holiday movies:

Elf

Release October 9, 2003

Elf was the highest ranking movie with the student body, which gives a bit of surprise because I myself think it’s a little weird. Why would anyone want to watch a grown man act almost like a child when in the normal world? It just doesn’t make sense to me.

Home Alone

Released November 16, 1990

Home Alone came up as the second highest rated holiday movie. Why? I don’t know, because when I see it I just see that there are people who are able to tell if someone was missing. How can a family as big as that forget just one kid? It just doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Released November 8, 2000

In the top third overrated spot is How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey. How this made it, I have no clue. I have recently watched it and I just have issues with how they portrayed the Grinch. Watching The Grinch with Benedict Cumberbatch is better than watching this one. I just think that they have him as being kinda gross, and not really child friendly personally.
