Graduation Run Down

Graduation Run Down

By London Sorensen

Seniors! Graduation is 9am on May 26th at the UCCU center. For those who are confused and stressed about how it’s going to run that day, here’s the basic things to remember.
No later than 8:30 am men will line up at the southwest tunnel, women in the south east tunnel. There will be name cards that you will pick up for the speaker to announce when you walk. Write on the name card how you wish your name to be pronounced, if you have a name that always gets butchered go ahead and write it phonetically. From there you may line up to sit with whoever you would like, unless you have been instructed to be first in the line such as SBOs or Bruin crew graduates.
When graduation music commences faculty members will assist you in walking inside, from there DO NOT sit down. Stay standing until the national anthem ends. When the presentation of diplomas starts, the last rows will exit first, symphony exiting after everyone else has. Once you’ve reached the speaker at the microphone, give him your name card. Walk through the big MV block, pause and pose for the jumbotron, and receive your diploma cover and go back to the row you previously were in.
After all the speeches and music numbers are over, exit out the south doors and go the tennis courts to receive your real diplomas. You may then go see any friends or family, if you don’t get your diploma you may come to counseling office to receive it the next week.
For a more detailed description graduation, or for any questions or concerns, see the school website or talk to your counselor. Congratulations Seniors!
