We’re Making History – How was your 2020?
2020, was a year to remember, that is for sure! One of the heavy hitters would be the COVID-19 pandemic. In between online school, toilet paper shortages and job losses around the world, 2020 hit us all differently. It made me wonder how my fellow classmates felt about 2020. This made me wonder if they would talk about online school, their favorite quarantine D.I.Y, or taking a passing grade last school year. Wondering what I would get, I took to the halls to get anonymous answers, about the question “How was your 2020?”
“2020 was challenging, but it’s helped me grow a lot as a person”
Sophomore
¨My life in 2020 did not really change, but cannot say the same for others. Knowing that others lost their homes, family, and jobs. I feel bad knowing that my 2020 wasn’t more, or that I didn’t do more to help my fellow students.¨
Sophomore
“Going through the loss of several loved ones is difficult but I found my way through and am overall a better person because of these very difficult situations. I can comfortably say that although 2020 was not ideal I don’t think I would go back and change a thing.”
Junior
Although it was rough, 2020 helped me discover many talents and interests I have that I wouldn’t have otherwise learned. It also taught me that not all good things last forever, so I should make what I do have count.¨
Junior
¨2020 was fine for the first part and then it all went downhill, but once the quarantine got over it was pretty good because we got to go back to school and at least see each other.”
Senior
¨2020 was a year full of learning. I learned a lot about myself and others. I realized how patience is key in life and there is no point in feeling like you can control everything the world or others do.¨
