Most people have ordered from Amazon at least once in their life. Mr. Bezos, founder of the famous online store Amazon, is stepping down from his position as the head CEO of Amazon. This came as a surprise to most, with him losing his spot as the richest person in the world to Elon Musk just before it was announced that he would be stepping down. No one knows what will happen to Amazon with Bezos stepping down, so we’ll just have to see what is in the future of Amazon.

Jeff Bezos is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1964. Mr. Bezos didn’t start Amazon until 1994. He created it as an online book store. After Amazon was founded they began to grow and start selling more than just books. Amazon continued to grow becoming one of the most convenient and successful companies in the world. Today Amazon sells roughly 1.6 million packages a day, and with this quantity of sales Mr. Bezos makes about 321 million dollars per day. With all of the money and the business Bezos has made, he can easily live the rest of his life without making any more money.

With all the benefits of owning a business like Amazon, why would he want to step down? Well for one thing, Mr. Bezos is 57 so he is getting decently old and would probably like to relax. Another reason may be the stress owning such a big business may have on him, so retiring would relieve a lot of the stresses that running a large company has. With these things on top of the amount of money he has prior to retirement, retirement at this point will let him live the rest of his life as he wants with more.
The future of Amazon is most likely going to be different, but I don’t think it will change much in the end. Bezos will live the rest of his life comfortably and exactly how he wants. While Jeff Bezos’s retirement came as a surprise to most, the impact he left on the world will live on forever.
