What Cars Have The Most Horsepower Per Dollar?

Aaron Gipson

There are a lot of great cars out there, but not all were created equal.

This is a list of cars that have the most horsepower per dollar. So if you’re looking for the most power in a car for the cheapest amount, this is perfect for you.

Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ/Scion FRS
Toyota, Subaru, and Scion all came together and made basically the same car each, but with some minor differences in the look. And because they shared a platform they were able to produce these at a reasonable price. But for this we are looking at the Toyota 86 with 205hp.

8th generation C8 Corvette
Corvette has always tried to make the most power for the least amount of money, people are even calling this the Ferrari killer. For example, the Ferrari 458 goes 0-60 in 3.1 seconds, while the c8 corvette does it in 2.9. That’s a pretty close line up considering that the 458 costs up to $400,000 and the corvette only costs $60,000. The dollar per horsepower is as follows.

Civic Type-R
Honda Civics get a lot of hate in the car community because they have very little power and could never keep up with their peers, but honda recently released the Type-R. The cost of these was lower because they were able to use the same frame and engine as some of the older models, which cut costs down significantly. The Type-R dollar to horsepower is…

Chevy Camaro LT1
The Chevy Camaro is a car everyone knows and loves, especially retired people. It’s a car that’s been around for a long time, and has looked cool all the way through. Their mission is to make a cheap fast car for the average person. And with a 0-60 of about 4.1 seconds, it’s definitely a contender on this list for it’s price. This horsepower to dollar is astonishing, at

Subaru WRX
Let’s say you don’t have $30k for a new Camaro, maybe you only have $4-$6, then you’re in luck because the 2002-2007 wrx is great for you. Yes, they are older cars so they will have more miles and problems, but you can usually find one of these things for pretty cheap. They have a solid horsepower to dollar,

That’s all for the list on horsepower per dollar, it had cars in the high and cars in the low, so everyone gets an option here.
