Super Bowl 55 Recap
Super Bowl 55 took place last Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers battled it out with the Buccaneers coming out on top 31-9. The Super Bowl was played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers were the first team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl on their home turf.
In a 31-9 shut out by the Bucs, Tampa won its second Super Bowl. The Bucs held the Chiefs, holding them to 3 field goals. Patrick Mahomes II threw for 270 yards on 26 completions of 49 attempts with two Interceptions. While Tom Brady threw for 201 yards on 21 completions of 29 attempts and 3 touchdowns. The Chiefs were without their two starting tackles Eric Fisher and Micthell Schwartz. Tampa Bay went after Mahomes. With the Chiefs having to mix up their O-line, the D-line took advantage of it sacking Mahomes three times. The secondary took away the Chiefs biggest weapons, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Forcing Mahomes to throw questionable passes and run for first downs. They gave up on the run game early and tried to throw the ball. The Chiefs defense fell apart against Brady. They had multiple holding calls and these calls came back to bite the Chiefs later on.
The Bucs offense was unstoppable. Brady and Gronk put on a show for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns. They ran the ball with Leonard Fournette for 89 yards on 16 attempts and one touchdown. The defense was the most impressive. They doubled Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. While you’d think Patrick would just go to other wide receivers the pass rush prevented this by getting to Mahomes very quickly. Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaq Barrett were the leaders of the pass rush and made the game really difficult for Mahomes. On defense linebacker Devin White led the team with 12 tackles and had an interception while Antoine Windfield Jr had an Interception. This great defensive play helped the Bucs win their second Super Bowl.
Brady ended up winning Super Bowl MVP. Tom Brady now has 7 Super Bowl rings. Yes, seven rings! The crazy thing is that Tom Brady has more rings than any other NFL Franchise. This is an incredible feat. Not only are the Bucs the first team to play in their home stadium, the Bucs also are the first team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl in their home city. Hopefully the pain of losing motivates the Chiefs and they can get back to the Super Bowl. On the other side, it is very hard to make it back to back Super Bowls, but with Tom Brady at the helm, nothing is impossible. For now, Tampa Bay can fire those cannons.

Pretty disappointing about the Chiefs losing pretty bad, but congrats to the Buccaneers
