Boys Wrestling

As of today, boys wrestling season has been pushed back due to Covid-19. The boys will be restarting practice on Nov. 23.

The Bruins will be led by the new head coach Hank Weis. He’s a retired MMA fighter. Coach Hank will be leading a pretty interesting group of athletes this year, 11 out of the 14 varsity wrestlers are returning state qualifiers, 3 of them are state finalists.

This is the Projected Lineup for each of the weight classes: 

 

106 – Oakley Shumway (9th)

113 – Gable Stoddard  (11th)– State Qualifier

120 – Coby Burr (10th)– State Finalist

126 – Anthony Avilla (12th)– State Qualifier

132 – Raul Mateos (12th)– State Qualifier

138 – Tyler Blevins (10th)

145 – Collin Sherman (11th)– State Qualifier

152 – Aaron Hyatt (12th)– State Qualifier

160 – Cameron Williams (11th)– State Qualifier

170 – Alan Aragon (12th)– State Qualifier

182 – Radi Stafford (12th)– State Finalist

195 – Eli Stafford (12th)– State Finalist

220 – Coleman Curtis (12th) 

285 – Chris Esparza (12th)– State Placer

 

The Bruins are Ranked 4th in the 5A division, and will be competing for a State Title at the state tournament. Good luck to our Bruin Wrestling team.
