Benefits of Skateboarding

Skateboarding was invented sometime in the late 40’s or early 50’s by surfers who wanted to do something when the waves were flat. They stuck wheels onto surfboards and “sidewalk surfing” was created. Skateboarding then blew up in the 60’s on the East and West coasts due to industrial development. This sparked the beginning to one of the most influential sports in U.S culture.

Skateboarding is both a mental and physical battle. You have to train yourself to be patient and to gather courage to do certain things. skateboarding can be very brutal. As far as from a physical battle goes, you will be pushing your legs to the limit trying to do tricks and landing over and over again from high jumps. Not to mention you could very well get scratched and beat up.

But there is a good to all this. There are several benefits of skating. It can be a fun workout and it is a great pastime. It is also good for your mental health because it relieves stress. Skateboarding also has a very welcoming community. Other skaters will not care about you falling over and screwing up because they, at one point, were in the same position. In fact, a lot of the time they will even help you.

Skating is an amazing sport. It has made legends such as Tony Hawk, Nyjah Huston, and many more amazing skaters the community love to watch skate. These skaters prove that you don’t have to be the same. All skaters should be different; all skaters stand out and have a different story to tell. This only makes skating much more amazing. The variety of the skaters will always be mind blowing as the sport continues to grow.
