Boys Basketball First Game

The boys basketball team is getting ready for their first game against Stansbury high school. Mountain View is looking pretty good for this season; they have five seniors with varsity experience coming back. They are really looking forward to the first game on December 4th. Mountain View has been putting in a lot of work this offseason and hope to have a great season.

Mountain View has a couple of seniors that have moved in. One of them is Preston Thompson, a move in from Queen Creek High School. He is really looking forward to the season and playing with his new teammates. Preston said “My last two years on varsity have been rough. I’m really looking forward to this season. I’m expecting big results.” The team was originally supposed to have their first game on November 24, but that all changed with governor Herbert’s mandate. Tryouts are now on the 24th. When asked about how this delay will affect the team Preston said “ it will definitely hurt us but if we can be focused in the practices leading up to the game I think it will be fine.”

Another player on the Mountain View basketball team is David Hare. David has been in the program for four years. David said “ I’ve been at Mountain View all high school and I want to go out with a bang this basketball season.” He is one of the only kids on the team that have gone to Mountain view his whole all his years. A few games have been canceled but their first game is at Stansbury on December 4th. David said “I think it’s important that we start the season off with a win so we have momentum for the rest of the season.”

This season is definitely going to be different for the Bruins but hopefully things go back to normal and they can finish their season.
