With the NFL Draft starting on the 29th, the question rises, Where will Zach Wilson Land?

On April 29th, 2021, Zach Wilson will find himself a new home. With that being said, which NFL team will draft Wilson? The whole football world has Wilson going to the Jets with the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft. The Jets have shown that they are all in on Wilson, trading their former starting QB Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers. The only way Wilson could stay out of New York is with a trade, or if they go with a different QB.

With that being said, there are still a few teams that are the favorite to get Wilson aside from the Jets.
In an earlier article called BYU Players entering NFL Draft, Wilson said he was familiar with the San Francisco 49ers offense. The Niners run the ball a ton and they have good wide receivers. These receivers include Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle. The Niners traded up to the No. 3 pick in this year’s draft and the plan on taking a QB. If the Jets pass on him, the Niners will definitely draft him.

If the Jets trade the pick, there is a team that would be very likely to do a deal with them. That team is the Atlanta Falcons. Falcons QB Matt Ryan is turning 36 in May, an age when QB’s start to fall off. If the Falcons drafted Wilson he would sit on the bench for a year and develop behind one of the league’s best quarterbacks. The Falcons hired Arther Smith who was the offensive coordinator for the Titans. The Titans ran the ball a whole lot this past year. This will help Wilson stay clean meaning he can hand the ball off and not throw the ball 50 times a game. The Falcons have the No. 4 pick in the draft so trading up or drafting a different QB are going to be the main options.

The Jets have shown lots of interest in Wilson. Coach Robert Saleh, Offensive Coordinator Mike LaFluer, and General Manager Joe Douglas all attended Zach’s pro day. Connect the dots. If you bring everyone who decides who the 2nd overall pick in the draft is, it leads everyone to assume Wilson will end with the Jets. BYU fans and Jets fans all around will wear this all around.
