Spider-Man No Way Home (SPOILER FREE)

The long awaited Marvel movie Spider-Man: No Way Home released in theatres on December 17, 2021. This was the third installment in Marvel’s Spider-Man series, coming after Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, featuring Tom Holland in the role of Spider-Man. The film features many of the previous characters in the MCU’s Spider-Man series, and features iconic characters from previous Spider-Man series as well.
This movie had one of the greatest opening weekends of all time, generating $121 million on it’s first day alone and totaling $587.2 million on its opening weekend. This ranks as the third largest worldwide opening weekend of all time, only trailing Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In terms of movies from the COVID era, this is the highest grossing film since the pandemic hit. Even with all of the success that has followed this new movie, it hasn’t slowed down. The movie has since reached $668.7 million, putting it above the classic movie Titanic at sixth highest grossing film at the domestic box office. It is even on pace to surpass Avengers: Infinity War at $678.8 million.
When asked about their thoughts on the new Spider-Man, an anonymous Mountain View student told me that, “Spider-Man was a spectacle that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was next. I felt immersed into the multiverse while watching, and I loved the performance of Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.” Another anonymous student told me that, “The new Spider-Man was the greatest film that I have ever witnessed. Seeing all of the different characters from the many different spider man films was a true joy and a throwback to my childhood. I’m so excited for the future of the series, and I think that everyone who hasn’t seen the movie should go see it as soon as possible.”
With a 93% critic score and a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it is safe to say that this latest entry into the Spider-Man series was a quality film. The high action scenes along with the losses and tragedy that Peter Parker endures make this a must watch movie. If you haven’t yet seen it, Spider-Man: No Way Home is still showing in theatres and will be coming to Disney+ soon.
