The BOB and MIKE showcase is a remarkable way to leave your print

Have you ever watched a music video and wanted to be in it? Well here’s your chance to live up to those dreams and show off your talent in the Battle of the Bands and Open Mic this February 23rd. Get your band together and prepare a few songs to compete with, or gather some words of expression and express your thoughts! First place gets a 036;100 prize! The deadline to register is February 15th, you can get your registration packet from the front office. Although the BOB and MIKE show is an annual event, this is the first year Mountain View is participating. Put forth your best effort and create history. The students who perform are eligible to play at the Utah State Fair. You also get a free shirt for all of your band members! You can either participate in the Battle of the Bands (BOB) or in open MIKE. At least 70% of your band members must be in 9th-12th grade. You must submit your material beforehand to be proofread. After you qualify to move forward in the competition, you have the opportunity to compete in the state-wide competition against other highschool students from all around the state. The state competition is on April 29th, at the Salt Lake Community College Grand Theatre, Salt Lake City, Utah. Visit the BOB and MIKE show handbook for complete and official rules and information.The Utah PTA states that, “The Utah PTA Student Leadership Commission sponsors Battle of the Bands, a yearly event where bands from high schools across the state come together to compete for prizes.” Remember if you don’t want to perform you can still come and support the bands! The Mountain View show is a free event and starts at 7:00p.m. This is a great opportunity to leave your print here at Mountain View.
